About Barack and Michelle Obama Middle School

Located in a newly renovated building attached to Barack & Michelle Obama Montessori Elementary School, Obama Middle School is purposefully designed to be the middle school pathway for students and families who are interested in experiential, hands-on learning.

This new school will start with sixth grade only in its first year, adding a grade each year to become a full 6-8th grade middle school in 2027. Fifth grade students who are enrolled in a Saint Paul Public Schools Montessori elementary school for the 2024-25 school year will have a reserved seat at Obama Middle School for 2025-26. All families with incoming sixth graders are encouraged to check out Obama Middle School and apply.
