Academics
At Obama Middle School, we use Standards-Based Learning and Grading. All assignments and assessments are scored on a 4-point scale that also connects to traditional letter grades.
We use this scale to emphasize student progress toward meeting the Minnesota science standards, rather than just earning letter grades. It shows where students are on the path to proficiency, highlights the skills they have mastered, and identifies what they are still developing—making learning the priority over points
